A New Year is upon us and no doubt many of you will have made New Year’s resolutions and hopefully on day two not broken them?
Setting goals for 2014, whether personal or for business is key, but remember they do need to be realistic and achievable.
Of course we need to challenge ourselves but if it is not realistic let’s face it, it won’t happen.
In 2013, I set my goal, which was to ‘new beginnings’. Rather a loose/undefined goal but I do believe I achieved it. At the beginning of the year I moved into my first home and learnt very quickly about how you shouldn’t always believe all you see on the surface but after six months I had my new home just how I liked it. Then, I lost and regained my mojo with the help of counselling and at this time identifying where I wanted to go. And, then lastly I found love online.
So, what have I set myself for 2014?
Well, it is all about getting a ‘balance’.
By this I mean, it is not all about work, you need to have a hobby / passion a release and if you achieve this, it will certainly make for a happier person. So, I plan to stay focused and channel all my positive energies into my business, SJD Events Limited and get it back on track and growing.
How, well this year I am going to be focusing on what I believe makes me stand out in the crowd and amongst my competitors and that is my ‘flexible’ service offering.
So, whether someone has planned 80% of their event but at the last hurdle are getting so stressed and need a helping hand, then SJD Events will step in.
This service will pull an event together by liaising with all the different suppliers and creating one working document where the client is in control resulting in them being able to relax and enjoy the occasion. The ‘Itinerary Planning’ package starts from £375.00.
And, ‘adhoc’ support whether on the phone, face to face or email. When someone just needs to run past an idea, wants you to overlook a contract or needs some professional advice this can be offered on an hourly basis which is from £75.00 an hour.
Obviously, we offer a range of ‘flexible’ services which appear on the website at http://www.sjdevents.com but I believe these will be popular with couples wanting to plan their big day alone who see a wedding planner as a luxury or, for those busy couples planning a special occasion who are juggling it all.
This year SJD Events Limited will once again be working alongside Flannels4Heroes which is a charity cricket event, entering its fourth year to be held at Burton Court in Chelsea on Friday 20th June. Flannels4Heroes raises money for Walking with the Wounded and Combat Stress and over the years we have raised well over £50,000.
We also have some other exciting projects in the pipeline so watch this space.
2014 I believe is going to be a good one as I follow my dream. As my strap line states written so perfectly by T. E. Lawrence ‘Dream your dreams with open eyes and make them come true’.
