The power of a motivational quote

We all have a quote or saying that motivates us and I really believe that these are important to keep one on track when sadly the news is gloom and doom but however apparently there is light at the end of the tunnel for the economy in 2014.

One of my main motivators is in the form of an image and that is ‘Never Give Up’.

However, saying that this morning I received a card from a girlfriend with this quotation by Souza which is so true ‘happiness is a journey, not a destination …

I believe that everyone can take something from this, whether it is on a personal level or for work as the words which accompanied the above saying were perfect.

So, as many of you head back to work today after the festive break you may just need a lift.   As, let’s face it the weather has been pretty miserable so, we should spare a thought for some family and colleagues who are still flooded, pumping out their homes for the 2nd or 3rd time and, some poor lady I saw on the news who had been stranded for 13 days and only got rescued yesterday.

So, take a moment to read the words and then see how they can help you achieve your goals for 2014.

For a long time it seemed to me that life was about to begin – real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid.  At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.  This perspective has helped me to see there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way. So treasure every moment you have and remember that time waits for no one.

It really resonates with me and is definitely going to help me stay on track with my personal goals and the two key points I will take away are:

  • Don’t put things off.

  • Live for the moment.

I hope that this will help you as you plan for a healthy and prosperous 2014.
